What you pay, and when
| To form it | $200.00, once. |
| Every two years | $9.00. Due every two years, in the same calendar month your Articles of Organization were filed. |
| If you miss it | No fee. The state records the LLC as past due, which shows on a Certificate of Status and can stop a transaction that needs one. |
| Registered agent | New York is different: you designate the Secretary of State as your agent for service of process and give an address for mail to be forwarded to. You do not need to hire a registered agent service, whatever one tells you. |
| Publication | Within 120 days of forming, you must publish a notice in two newspapers for six consecutive weeks, chosen by the county clerk where your office is, then file a Certificate of Publication for $50. Miss it and your authority to do business is suspended. The newspaper charges are set by the papers, not the state, and in some counties they cost several times the filing fee — ask the county clerk which papers before you choose a county. |
Do it yourself
You file this directly with the state. There is nobody in the middle who has to be paid to do it, and nothing on this page is a Base888 charge — the fees above are paid to New York.
